superb anaesthetic. could not be improved. my only suggestion for an improvement overall would be for earlier contact with the anaesthetist- eg at the preoperative assessment clinic..to discuss the type of anaesthetic...and post op pain regime. It wasn't till a few hours before the op that I learned that a spinal would be defintely tried (as I had hoped)... but this is a hospitl logistics issue, and maybe not possible for Dr Uncles to influence!!

Dr Uncles was the anaesthetist at my c section and he explained the what would be happening before the operation so that I felt safe and totally in control of everything. He made us feel relaxed and he answered all questions regardless of how silly they were. He was constantly updating us to what was happening and letting us know about the baby. An excellent bed side manner.

Doctor Uncles has an excellent bedside manner, and is a very caring Anaesthetist. Who put me at ease of any anxieties and fears I had before my recent operation, and he reassured me he would look after me while under the anaesthetic. Having had several anaesthetics in the past .I would say in my opinion Dr Uncles is the most caring anaesthetist who goes to great length to explain the proceedure to you. That in my opinion to the patient is very important.

Profile

I am a specialist Anaesthetist with interests in Obstetric, Ambulatory and Inpatient anaesthesia. I employ a variety of anaesthetic techniques including general or regional anaesthesia, although I often use them in combination to optimise and enhance patients' peri and post-operative experience.
I am dedicated to putting the patient first through the provision of safe and reassuring care delivered in conjunction with my colleagues and associates.
I was present at the inauguration of the Helsinki Declaration in June 2010. This enshrines the values essential to the promotion of the highest professional and safety standards expected of anaesthetists. It is my hope to match or even exceed the expectations of patients who place their trust in me.
